Our beaches are great for all ages, but children especially. While you're enjoying our famous beaches, keep a lookout for the remains of long-ago shipwrecks. Known as the "Graveyard of the Atlantic," hundreds of ships have sunk off our shores in the last two hundred years. Lastly, be sure to visit some of the other beachfront communities of the Outer Banks. Corolla, Southern Shores, Sanderling, Whalehead, Duck, Kitty Hawk, and Kill Devil Hills all lie to the north of Ocean View Cottage. To the south are Coquina Beach, Pea Island , Bodie Island, Hatteras Island, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco and Ocracoke Island.
